Klarna and J.P. Morgan Payments Launch Live US Integration

Klarna has launched its first live integration with J.P. Morgan Payments in the United States, allowing merchants using J.P. Morgan’s payment infrastructure to offer Klarna’s flexible payment options directly at checkout.

Klarna BNPL at checkout

The integration connects Klarna’s buy-now-pay-later capabilities with J.P. Morgan Payments’ merchant network, giving US businesses a more direct way to offer installment and pay-later options without building a separate payment integration.

For merchants, the setup reduces the technical complexity typically associated with adding alternative payment methods. Klarna’s financing options can be incorporated into existing payment flows, allowing customers to select flexible payment terms during checkout.

The launch represents an important distribution opportunity for Klarna as it continues expanding in the US market. Access to J.P. Morgan Payments’ extensive merchant infrastructure gives the Swedish fintech another channel through which to reach businesses and consumers.

For J.P. Morgan Payments, the integration adds a BNPL and flexible payments option to its merchant services offering. As businesses increasingly look for payment methods that can improve conversion and give customers greater flexibility at checkout, partnerships with specialised fintech providers are becoming an important part of payment infrastructure strategies.

“The integration gives merchants a streamlined way to offer flexible payment options through infrastructure they already use.”

The partnership also reflects a broader shift in the payments industry, with established financial institutions increasingly working with fintech companies to expand their product capabilities rather than developing every service internally.

For Klarna, the US launch comes as the company continues to strengthen its position in one of the world’s largest consumer payments markets. Expanding its distribution through established payment infrastructure could help the company increase transaction volumes while making its BNPL products more accessible to merchants.

The integration is expected to give US merchants another way to offer consumers installment-based payment options directly within existing checkout experiences, further embedding BNPL into mainstream payment infrastructure.
