Zerohash has received an electronic money institution (EMI) licence from the Dutch Central Bank (De Nederlandsche Bank) for its European subsidiary, Zerohash Europe B.V.

According to the company, the approval strengthens its ability to support stablecoin-powered financial flows within Europe’s evolving regulatory framework.
The licence follows recent guidance from the European Banking Authority (EBA), which clarified that firms handling e-money tokens (EMTs) must hold both an EMI licence and a Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) licence.
Zerohash Europe previously secured its MiCA licence from the Dutch Authority for the Financial Markets in October 2025.
With both licences now in place, Zerohash says it is positioned to support compliant stablecoin and digital asset services for banks, brokerages, fintech firms, payment providers, and enterprise platforms operating across Europe.
The regulatory approval comes just two months after Zerohash Europe expanded its Amsterdam headquarters as part of its broader European growth strategy.
Earlier this year, the company also applied for a US OCC national trust bank charter, which Zerohash chief legal and compliance officer Stephen Gardner described as a “natural next step” in expanding the firm’s global regulatory footprint.
