CHARLES & KEITH Expands Adyen Giving Across Singapore Stores

Retailers are increasingly embedding charitable giving directly into digital payment experiences as payment infrastructure evolves beyond simple transaction processing. Partnerships between retailers and fintech platforms are helping brands integrate social impact initiatives into everyday commerce journeys.

CHARLES & KEITH has partnered with Adyen to integrate Adyen Giving across its retail stores in Singapore, enabling customers to contribute directly to charitable initiatives during the checkout process.

CHARLES & KEITH Adyen Giving partnership

The initiative, led by the CHARLES & KEITH Group Foundation, supports causes under Community Chest, the philanthropic arm of Singapore’s National Council of Social Service. By the end of August 2026, the donation feature is expected to be fully rolled out across all physical CHARLES & KEITH locations in Singapore. The collaboration reflects a broader movement within retail and fintech, where payment infrastructure is increasingly being used not only for transactions, but also for embedded social impact initiatives.

Integrating donations directly into the retail payment experience

The partnership allows shoppers to round up purchases to the nearest dollar during checkout, turning everyday retail transactions into micro-donation opportunities. To increase the impact of the program, Adyen will match every donation made through the platform throughout 2026 using its 1% Fund, an initiative that allocates one percent of the company’s annual net revenue toward projects aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

The technical infrastructure behind Adyen Giving separates donation flows entirely from merchant revenue streams while also absorbing transaction processing costs. This ensures that the full donation amount reaches the intended charitable organizations without deductions related to payment fees or operational overhead. For retailers, this approach eliminates many of the integration and administrative challenges traditionally associated with point-of-sale donation campaigns, creating a more scalable framework for embedded philanthropy.

Using payment technology to strengthen community engagement

The collaboration also marks the first time Community Chest has worked with a global fintech provider to implement a digital-first donation ecosystem within retail environments. According to both companies, the initiative reflects changing consumer expectations, particularly among younger shoppers who increasingly prefer brands that integrate social purpose into the commerce experience itself.

By embedding charitable giving directly into payment flows, CHARLES & KEITH and Adyen are positioning retail transactions as opportunities for collective impact rather than purely commercial exchanges. As large retailers continue investing in unified commerce infrastructure, integrations like Adyen Giving demonstrate how payment technology can evolve beyond financial processing into tools that support broader customer engagement and social initiatives. The rollout may also serve as a blueprint for future partnerships between retailers, fintech platforms, and nonprofit organizations across global markets.
