Ant International’s Alipay+ has expanded its cross-border payments network by integrating with Argentina’s national QR payment system, Transferencias 3.0, allowing international travellers to make digital payments at millions of merchants across the country.

The integration was completed in partnership with PVS, a Latin American fintech specializing in payment technology, enabling users of supported Alipay+ partner wallets to scan the same interoperable QR codes already used by local consumers.
The rollout gives international visitors a familiar payment experience while helping Argentine merchants accept cross-border digital payments without changing their existing QR infrastructure.
Alipay+ currently connects more than 150 million merchants with over 50 digital wallets and banking apps, representing approximately 2 billion user accounts worldwide. Argentina now joins the growing list of markets connected to the company’s expanding international payment network.
Built on Transferencias 3.0, Argentina’s interoperable instant payment infrastructure developed by the country’s central bank, the service allows consumers to pay through any participating digital wallet or banking application using a single QR code. The integration extends that capability to international travellers using supported Alipay+ partner apps.
For merchants, particularly small and medium-sized businesses, the partnership creates new opportunities to serve inbound tourists while continuing to use the same QR payment infrastructure already deployed across the country.
The announcement also strengthens Ant International’s expansion strategy in Latin America. In recent months, the company has increased its regional presence through payment partnerships, digital wallet initiatives, and embedded finance projects across markets including Argentina, Chile, Brazil, and Mexico.
As global travel continues to recover, interoperability between domestic payment networks and international digital wallets is becoming an increasingly important part of payment infrastructure. By connecting local QR systems with cross-border payment platforms, providers such as Alipay+ are helping reduce friction for both merchants and international consumers while supporting the continued growth of digital commerce.
