Ripple has made a strategic investment in Licuido, a UK-based fintech developing infrastructure for tokenized capital markets, as the company looks to expand the use of the XRP Ledger (XRPL) beyond cross-border payments.

Although the financial terms of the investment were not disclosed, the partnership is expected to support Licuido’s growth while accelerating the development of digital capital markets infrastructure built on XRPL.
Licuido focuses on the tokenization of traditional capital market instruments, enabling financial assets to be issued and managed on blockchain networks. By converting conventional securities into digital tokens, the platform aims to improve settlement efficiency, increase market accessibility, and simplify asset management for financial institutions.
The investment aligns with Ripple’s broader strategy of expanding XRPL into institutional financial infrastructure. In recent years, the company has increased its focus on tokenization, digital asset custody, and stablecoin-related services as blockchain adoption continues to grow across global capital markets.
The UK has become an increasingly important market for tokenized finance, with regulators working to establish frameworks that support digital securities and blockchain-based financial products. That regulatory progress creates favourable conditions for infrastructure providers such as Licuido as financial institutions explore new ways to issue and manage assets.
For Ripple, the partnership represents another step in strengthening XRPL’s role within institutional finance. Rather than focusing solely on payment services, the company is investing in technologies that support the broader digital asset ecosystem, including tokenization platforms capable of modernising capital market infrastructure.
As interest in real-world asset tokenization continues to accelerate, strategic investments in specialist infrastructure providers are becoming an increasingly common theme across the fintech and digital asset industries.
