9fin raises $170 million Series C to lead the AI transformation of global debt markets

9fin, an intelligence platform for debt capital markets, has announced a $170 million Series C funding round, valuing the company at $1.3 billion.

The round was led by HarbourVest, with participation from CPP Investments, Highland Europe, Spark Capital, Redalpine, and Seedcamp. This investment comes at a time of structural change in the $145 trillion global debt market, where fragmented data and manual workflows are increasingly being replaced by AI-driven systems.

The intelligence layer for modern credit

Debt markets underpin the global economy, yet the infrastructure supporting them has historically lagged behind. 9fin positions itself as an “intelligence layer,” combining proprietary data and real-time analytics into a unified platform.

This enables credit professionals to move from fragmented information toward faster, more actionable decision-making.

Scaling AI and proprietary data

With the new funding, 9fin plans to further strengthen its technological capabilities:

  • Embedded AI: Integrating AI directly into core credit workflows to improve how complex legal and financial documents are parsed and analyzed
  • Data foundation: Expanding its proprietary dataset, which supports over 300 institutional clients, including leading law firms, banks, and asset managers
  • US expansion: Accelerating growth in the United States, now the company’s fastest-growing market

Unprecedented growth

The company has reported multiple consecutive years of 100% ARR growth, driven by demand for real-time visibility across credit markets.

For many professionals, 9fin has become the “first screen” they open replacing siloed systems with a unified view of global debt markets.

“Debt markets are too large, too important, and too complex to run on fragmented systems,” said Steven, Co-founder of 9fin. “This investment allows us to further embed AI into the core of financial analysis and build the next generation of market infrastructure.”
